ABOUT SOUL
Hi Everyone!
I would like to introduce you to my business and brand Stitches Of Unconditional Love (S.O.U.L.) and share some backstory, in hopes that I can count on your support to help sew and grow its success.
My introduction to crochet was a joint effort by my godmother Tonya, who gifted me my first set of crochet hooks in 2008, and Aunt Sharon, who sat with me at Nana’s dining table on Christmas and taught me the basics. As simple as it was, I was so proud to create a slip knot and rows of single crochet by myself! Some of my first projects were colorful handbags and clutches adorned with loopy flowers and rainbow fish. In hindsight, I wish I had kept a few of those projects to measure my growth. In the midst of COVID-19, I found myself picking up my OG crochet hooks and yarn in hopes of keeping myself occupied until outside opened back up. That quickly turned into thoughts of S.O.U.L.
Officially born in May 2020, the name was created by my sister Ashley who built on the name “Stitches of Love” (SOL). The addition of “unconditional” spoke to my brand focusing on a love for all people and their unique styles. As I matured from those rainbow fish and loopy flowers and began creating sophisticated designs fit for every closet, it drove home the fact that now, more than ever, we need to evolve as a species.
We should celebrate uniqueness and diversity, sophisticating the way we love and cover people instead of the hate we see and/or dish out daily. Let’s genuinely try moving towards that fabled unconditional love that builds bridges, meets people where they are, and gives us an opportunity to take their hand and bring them forward in a loving way. Those bridges lessen the widening divide that we see between generations, political parties, spiritual ideologies, and economic disparities.
S.O.U.L is my way of spreading light and positivity, each joining of crochet a proverbial bridge to lessen the gaps. I would love to know that I can count on your support by following my page, sharing my posts, and placing orders. Every piece is crocheted by my hands and customized to each individual.
